If You Stand For Nothing, You Will Fall For Anything

You may be wondering what does your convictions have to do with your TOTAL HEALTH. It has everything to do with your TOTAL HEALTH, because what you believe is what you live. What you believe influences every thought, word you speak, and every action you take. In other words, your current life is a manifestation of what you believe, what you stand for, or what you fall for. When we stand for nothing, we are easily manipulated and easily distracted. We are also prone to give up on ourselves, our goals, and our dreams.

WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR?

This question may take you by surprise, or for many it’s an easy question to answer. However, as you ponder this question, follow it closely by an examination of your story. This is a good time to examine:

  1. Your beliefs
  2. Your ethics
  3. Your morals
  4. Your values

While examining your story, you may also want to make sure that you do so with c.a.r.e. I stress this point because, too often, we focus on the negatives and beat ourselves up, completely forgetting all the positives in our lives. As you further examine your story, be mindful of recurring patterns, practices, or habits that keep cropping up in your life. Examine closely whether or not these patterns, practices, or habits keep you in alignment with your goal, your purpose. If they do not, these are patterns, practices, and habits that you want to change, that you want to weed out of your life.

TOTAL HEALTH IS WHOLISTIC HEALTH

Wholistic as in the whole person being optimally healthy. You have healthy thoughts; you live your life by values that are good and honorable; your beliefs are grounded in love, not only of self, but of others; your emotional responses are healthy; when you act on your feelings, you do so with care. You carefully choose actions that reflect a person living in a state of love, a person living from a place of abundance. Do not assume that this means you will never get angry and act rashly; however, you will be more inclined to live in and from a state of love regularly and eventually constantly.

FEAR MAY BE THE FORCE BEHIND YOUR ACTIONS

If the majority of your actions are in response to fear, that unfortunately will also be reflected in your TOTAL HEALTH. What are the signs of someone not living a totally healthy life? Check for areas of imbalance in the four pillars. Remember the four pillars are spiritual, physical, financial, and psychological [emotional and mental]. What is the current condition, health, of your four pillars? It is easiest to see the damage in the physical pillar; however, remember your body [physical pillar] bears the burden of any damage, disease, or dysfunction occurring in your spiritual, psychological, and financial pillars.

One final question, where is the stress occurring for you? Is it spiritual, psychological, or financial? Remember, it will also eventually be physical if you do not take the time to get totally healthy.
