Staying Positive In The Midst Of Uncertainty
I used to be the glass half empty person. I would focus on what was missing instead of what was present. I erroneously thought and for most of my adult life believed that I would accomplish more if I focused on what was missing. In 2018 I admitted that I was wrong.
The Consequences Of A Negative Mindset
Focusing on what’s missing not only sours your attitude, but it also impacts your total health. When you have a negative attitude, you are less inclined to make a concerted effort. You are less inclined to care properly for your self and as a result, your health is often compromised because you develop unhealthy practices, habits. A negative mindset is one that rejects consciously or unconsciously positive influence, positive thoughts, and emotions [when you fill your mind and heart with the negatives, by focusing on what’s missing, there is no room for the positives].
Health Is About Balancing Your Life
When you don’t feel positive, you can be easily discouraged and often lack hope when things don’t go as expected. Your struggle to accept setbacks with grace. The negative mindset and attitude overshadow all areas of your life, making you feel dissatisfied and unhappy. In this state you don’t really care and your effort to make healthy changes is inconsistent.
Staying Positive Requires Gratitude
It may sound easy; however, being grateful requires an accepting mindset. Accepting the truth about your life and recognizing that there are many things you cannot control. Being grateful also requires you to be humble, and patiently wait while change takes place. Of course, you need to make a consistent commitment to practice being grateful daily. What you have is enough. There is no need or want for anything. Getting to this state requires you to believe and trust that all your needs are already met or will be met by the grace of the highest power when you are in spiritual alignment and practice self-control.
