How Do You Wake Up, Happy or Groaning?

Are you happy? Do you wake up every morning brimming with the excitement of a new day? Or do you waking praying it was Friday instead of Monday?

Don’t forget to express your gratitude

Many people won’t say they are unhappy, but there is a certain sense that something is missing. Yet, when you ask them what would make them happy, many of those same people will look at you confused. The reason that happens is because so many of us NEVER stopped and DEFINED what happiness means to us.

define happiness for yourself

Many people think, “I will be happy when I graduate from law school“, “when I lose the weight“, “when I buy that new car or whatever latest gadget“, “when I have saved up a few million dollars“, “when I get that dream job“, “when I have that house I have always dreamed of”, and the list is endless of all the things we think will make us happy.

Sadly, so many of us lose the weight, get the home, buy that fancy car, have millions in the bank and yet are still UNHAPPY. Why? Many come to realize that external sources only create fleeting moments of happiness and to be truly happy consistently (content) comes from within.

focus on what you have and notice the positive shift

True happiness and contentment comes with being at peace with who you are. It comes from loving unconditionally, yourself and others. The happiness you seek comes from developing an intimate relationship with God through the Holy Spirit that dwells within.

Enjoy the things, but set your sight on Love

Material things will give you transient happiness. Don’t get me wrong, I love my trinkets and my vacations; however, when the initial excitement wears off, what are you left with if there is no real sense of joy and contentment in your soul.

What would it take to make you happy?

  1. Peace, avoid chaos and confusion, which the Devil uses to distract you.
  2. True peace comes from accepting that God is in control and He loves you just as you are.
  3. He will protect you and provide for your daily needs if you trust and obey him.
  4. He is not a God of fear, but a God of love; yet, you will suffer if you blatantly CHOOSE to disobey.

you have free will, choose wisely

You have free will to choose, be careful what you choose, because every choice small or big, good or bad has consequences and some consequences cannot be undone and may lead to unending suffering.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”    (John 14:27  KJV)
