When Was The Last Time You Listened To Your Needs?

Being mindful, means taking the time to be in the moment. However, what you do in the moment is also key. Use your mindful pause to connect with self, to develop a healthy relationship with self. Put all distractions on pause and observe without criticism or judgment. Learn to sit with the emotions, thoughts, and feelings that pop up, without taking action, simply B.R.E.A.T.H.E.

Observation Is Essential If You Desire Transformation

I will say it again, if you don’t know what is wrong, how can you create the best version of yourself. If you are seeking to get healthy, then there is something unhealthy or not right spiritually, psychologically, physically, or financially in your life. The problem is that many people get to this point, but then stop. They hesitate to examine the cause of their dis-ease [disease]. Ignorance is not bliss and ignoring the problem won’t make it go away. This may be one of the reasons many people develop unhealthy habits or addictive behaviors. They try to avoid facing what is making them unhappy or causing dis-ease in their heart, mind, and soul. After a while, they would rather live a comfortable lie than confront the uncomfortable truth.

Gain Clarity About Who You Are

What does that really mean? After you have decided that you are a child of God, what next? You have to know the person you are. Here are some questions that may help you discover who you are:

  1. What do I LOVE?
  2. What do I love about myself?
  3. What do I VALUE?
  4. What are my BELIEFS?
  5. What is my biggest FEAR?
  6. What emotion dominates my LIFE?
  7. What are my STRENGTHS?
  8. What are my WEAKNESSES?
  9. What do I really DESIRE or WANT?
  10. What do I NEED?

You may do this all at once or take the time to ponder each question and answer carefully. As you answer each question, ask yourself, “Why or why is this important?” Be sure to do this in privacy when you can really take the time to go deep. You may need some time to uncover or rediscover the person buried beneath. Always seek from a state of love. Be compassionate, remember to accept that you are human and made some mistakes along the way, show gratitude and empathy, and be forgiving to self. Most important, remember nothing or no one can separate you from God’s love, unless of course you decide to reject God’s love.

The Two Best Pieces Of Advice I Was Given

  1. Learn to LOVE the person you are right now.

If you can’t love who you are right now, the possibility exists that when you accomplish your goal, you still won’t be satisfied. The source of our deepest fulfillment is not external, it is internal. When the physical being has a healthy relationship with the spiritual being, united in unconditional love, that is when the best version of self is present. The best version of self has nothing to do with one’s physical appearance or attributes, rather it is when we become one with our spiritual being.

2. You have everything you NEED to live abundantly.

This was a little difficult for me to grasp until I understood the source of my providence. Contrary to what many people think, it’s not self. It’s the most-high God, Jesus Christ, whose love is unconditional and who is faithful to keep His promises to never forsake us and meet our every need. When we learn to fully surrender our will to Him, that is when we are fully free. Free to become the best version of self, who lives in and from a state of abundance. Open you heart, mind, and soul fully to love if you desire your BEST life.
