Racism Is Not An Illusion
I am a black person and racism does exist; however, the solution is not more anger and violence. It is understandable the pain, anxiety and frustration that many black people are feeling currently. There is an intense hurt within many of us in response to this current act of violence; however, if you believe in God, you must rise above that pain (as hard as it may seem right now) and trust in God to work things out. Get on your knees and pray for comfort and guidance.
EXERCISE IS THE BEST MEDICINE FOR INTENSE EMOTIONS
The best medicine for intense emotions is a good bout of physical exercise. Work it out, if you can by taking a walk, play in the back yard with your kids, run up and down the stairs in your home, or run in place as fast as you can for 30 seconds and get those endorphins to kick in to soothe the hurt.
I AM BLACK AND PROUD TO BE BLACK, BECAUSE GOD CHOSE TO BRING ME INTO THIS WORLD AS A BLACK PERSON AND GOD HAS A PURPOSE FOR EVERY ONE (HE DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES).
We are all being whipped into a frenzy by many news channel and all the social media platforms; this is not healthy for any of us because this only causes a build up of negative emotions that needs an outlet. To avoid giving into those intense emotions, “take a pause from the news”, put some distance between you and the negative stimulus.
Step out of your comfort zone and strike up a conversation with us, you may be surprised to learn that we worry about the same things that you do and feel the same pain of rejection as well.
Shift your focus to God. It may seem difficult to comprehend why black people have to endure such abuse and suffering. Sadly, you may never get an answer; however, as the late Martin Luther King Jr said: ” LOVE is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.” Therefore, you must use love.
I CARE BECAUSE EVERY LIFE MATTERS – god is love
I believe in GOD and I will continue to give every patient I encounter the best care possible, because in doing so I honor my GOD (I honor LOVE). WHERE THERE IS LOVE, THERE SHOULD BE NO FEAR, and it is unfortunate that many black people live in constant fear, which can create havoc in their minds and lives. Yet, you must remember, God is still in control.
Racism offends and hurts many deeply because when you believe in LOVE, it is hard to comprehend how others can be so unloving; yet, you must forgive and remember that “vengeance belongs to God.”
Such truth spoken. I think we have a narrow interpretation of what love is. Too many people feel that LOVE means turning the other cheek; however, LOVE means using the strength of those in positions of power to create positive guidelines & strategies to prevent the abuse of power. Instead of passivity, be pro-active and the media has such a huge part to play in this as well.
Where there is FEAR there can be no LOVE and the only way to overcome that fear is for people to reach out and communicate, learn about each other instead of jumping to conclusions.
Very True. I think a lot of the anger also comes from fear of our OWN loved ones potentially being in those horrifying situations!!! I agree that we have to shed the cloak of fear and stop watching the News!!! I keep in the front of my mind, “where attention goes, energy flows” and we have to refrain from focusing on the wrongs and being fearful, but focus on improving our lives and a better future.
Absolutely correct. Thanks!
