DO YOU OFTEN THINK, “WHY DID I DO THAT?”

Perhaps this answer may help you. There is something going on inside your mind (and usually it is you battling internally with your beliefs, emotions, and thoughts). When there is conflict, you often have confusion, which causes you to make poor choices. Understand that you create your emotions because of your beliefs and thoughts,

EXTERNAL MANIFESTATIONS OF an INNER BATTLE

Perfectionistic tendencies, destructive eating habits, weight gain, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, gossiping, cynical attitude and bitterness, or any habit that does not foster health in mind, body and soul are all manifestations of an internal battle.

WHEN YOU THINK OF MAKING A CHANGE

You start an internal dialog, which can create internal conflict.

Understand how your brain works.

You can minimize this conflict by gathering information and considering the benefits of making that change. You can never go wrong with seeking knowledge and gaining wisdom because it allows you to gain clarity.

your mind is your “dark place”- shine some light

What are you struggling with right now? What are you thinking about all the time? Write it down (bring it into the light) and then examine the belief behind the thought for truth.

YOU ACT BECAUSE YOU WANT to ease the disCOMFORT

Your thoughts make you feel, and often when you feel (sad, unhappy, frustrated, etc.) you do things to make you feel better, happier (buy a pair of shoes, eat some ice cream, smoke a cigarette, go to the bar, etc.). Recognize that you are responsible for creating those feelings. With repetition, these actions become your new habits.

break the habit of thought-feeling-action

Become aware that you create your emotions and feelings because of your core beliefs that are often untruths. When you face a life event, you think about your core beliefs and you create feelings that you then chose to act on, often in unhealthy ways.

Use some psychological and neuroscientific tools to help you to better process your emotions (feelings).

Heal your emotional pain with God’s love.  When you take your burdens and lay them at God’s feet, you set yourself free. Free to live a life of abundant health, joy and prosperity. Seek the truth about what you are believing.

your burdens are weighing you down

Your burdens of unmet expectations (dissatisfaction), broken relationships, unfulfilled dreams and remembered hurt can all combine to block your success.

Feeling dissatisfied? The solution is to examine your values and beliefs.  Are you living a life that reflects your values and beliefs, which are grounded in truth?

If the current obstacle in your life is what you are focusing on, try shifting your focus to God and see how that change in perspective opens up the window and lets the light in to give you the clarity and solution (s) you need.
